I sat down both my gen 1 and this Gen 2 and compared them. Right off the bat you will notice that the turret clicks are much more pronounced and easily heard. Glass is spot on with both scopes. I have not been able to test tracking on Gen 2. However I would anticipate that it will do well and hold true. If you are looking for a great scope for hunting or a range day this scope has you covered. If you are not wanting to spend the money for an ETR then I would strongly advise you look at this Gen2.
